There are seven regional drug and alcohol competence centres in Norway responsible for carrying out a broad range of activities. These include assisting municipalities and specialist health services with professional development, and initiating measures in conjunction with county governors to facilitate improvements in quality standards. The regional centres are responsible for implementing national and professional guidelines relating to drugs and alcohol.
